Well, Parker, I didn't know this song before.

But it sounded good to my ears regardless. Most of the time I really like the natural sound of voice/guitar without those EQ and stuffs. It sounded so real like we gather together in a circle with acoustic guitars in our hands and take turn to entertain us all Cool

sounded almost like those Celtic songs style (DADGAD?)Shy

Yesterday I did a Beatles cover song just to teased my Thai cyber friend who's living in Switzerland. Just another "One take" by Zoom Q3HD/Santa Cruz OM/PW, and no edit of any kind. I'd like to share with us here too and yeah, hope it doesn't hurt anyone's feeling too :-)

FOR NO ONE
Your day breaks, your mind aches
You find that all her words of kindness linger on
When she no longer needs you

She wakes up, she makes up
She takes her time and doesn't feel she has to hurry
She no longer needs you

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind her tears cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years

You want her, you need her
And yet you don't believe her when she says her love is dead
You think she needs you

You stay home, she goes out
She says that long ago she knew someone but now he's gone
She doesn't need him

Your day breaks, your mind aches
There will be times when all the things she said will fill your head
You won't forget her

The Beatles songs always strike my ears. I never heard this song; but it's beautiful reminds me of "when I'm 64'" that ones of my favourite tune.

Just like I said at FB that this was the song that my wife used to played a lot. I like the lyric and also the melody line. You did it good again Cin. Cool

And from Parker; "The Beatles songs always strike my ears. I never heard this song; but it's beautiful reminds me of "when I'm 64'" that ones of my favourite tune."
My opinion is Beatles songs are constructed of the clever passage of chords that not many of their contemporary artists had, left alone the lyrics that still keep you pondering for quite a while. And of course You'd never heard of most of their songs because you're not even close to their age!!LOL.

I believe I recorded "When I'm 64" both in true acoustic and also with drum machine when I approached 64, but I'm not sure where are they now! You still have a long time to get to that age so you'll have plenty of time to spice it up with your Jazz flavor and make it your own version :-)

Now, when I re-listened to Cin. Something's nagging me like I've heard this song before!! And I kept thinking about it and all of a sudden something clicked!!

This Thai song sounds somewhat similar to the very old Hippies era song!!

That song was "For Yasgur's farm" that we (Thanks) played in the late 60s up until we disbanded in early 70s. It was sung by our keyboard player Ter (The late Rewat Buddhinan) and I played bass in that band. I'm not saying that the Thai song composer had any melody idea from the Farang! I could be very well be totally wrong. But you'll be the judge :-)
(I recorded this song about 2 years ago by our Nimit's member Chad's request. But of course I didn't do any guitar solo part! Khor (The late Chalermkiat Amornsingha) our lead guitar did a splendid soloing as he always did, he also passed away not very long after Ter. May they RIP my friends)

Dear Tingnal,
You surprised me big timeBig Grin

I'm pretty sure you're much younger than me. So what on earth you happened to know those 2 songs!!!!???Tongue

Coincidentally I once had an urge to record the "Nantucket Sleighride". I did that for one reason of we (Thanks) proudly played this song quite often and I don't think any other Thai bands ever dared to played this one. And I'm pretty sure very few Thai knows this song!

It's one of those rock songs that has the classical music structure in them (Overture...Sonata....Prelude....First movement....Second movement...Out tro.....etc). I'm always personally fascinated by those even before I went to study music in US in 1972.

If my comment above intrigues anyone then I would encourage you to get on You Tube and search for Mountain (the name of the band) and follow by the song titles (Nantucket Sleigh.....and Theme from....)

And this "Mountain" is one of my all time favorite bands, and I've learned a lot from the late great Felix Pappalardi the bass player.

Now for the "Theme from............". I didn't have a chance to play this one with "Thanks", and I'm frankly afraid to do it alone by myself! It's too grand a song to execute (or mess it up!). I also has a lot of respect for the writers of this song (Jack Bruce, who's CREAM's bass player and Pete Brown). So I still wanted to leave this song alone for the time being. And again I bet not too many Thai know this song, and I salute you Tingnal for knowing this song, you are so COOL man!Big Grin

Parker, allow me to borrow your "ขออภัยถ้าไม่เพราะขัดอารมณ์ใครบางคน" here :-))

Well, I changed my mind and put the "Nantucket...." here to make it easy for anyone who wants to FEEL this great song;

And "Theme.................". As I recalled, Felix Pappalardi was tragically shot to death by his girl friend Gail Collins in San Francisco in 1983, Gail Collins was also the artist who painted and designed all of "Mountain" front album pictures. Such a sad ending for this great rock musician who had the classical music background.

ขอบคุณลุง Nap มากครับ Smile
