RE: HOHNER Harmonicas
I've never known or used Hohner Bluesband model!

When I was in my teen, I started using Hohner Bluesharp while I was in Thailand. I switched to Lee Oskar's when I migrated to USA in 1972.

IHMO; I think Hohners mainly use wood comb and also wood body and may be wood reeds too. while Lee Oskar uses mainly plastic for those parts. The trouble with wood is it will get swallen and harder to keep them clean after a while and immediately after you blow (and draw) your moisture in it, and it's especially true in high humidity location like Thailand.

LO is much easier to keep it clean and plastic will always not swallen of course! May be a little more expensive but I think it's worth it and LO also have parts to be purchased if any of them worn out.

Another main reason for me is the sound. LO (10 holes) is just a tad larger body (or should I say wider?) thus you'll get more sound volume and sweeter (to my ears) so you don't have to blow or draw as hard as Hohners'. I don't know if LO is available in Thailand or not?, but it's worth trying though if you have a chanceBig Grin
[A friendship needs a little mulch of contacts every so often-just to save it from drying out completely.

I always have great pleasure being alone by myself to play, If you're playing for any other reason, it won't last.
