Just my humble opionion;

I'd suggest to get the nylon string first. Because if you give up then you're not going to (financially) lose a lot. And if you really like to keep on playing you can purchase another good steel string later and playing both of them.

And by doing that you will know how to play both of them that will enhance your playing style for sure
