SING!... AMY...SING!
SING!... AMY...SING!

Amy Winehouse and Paul Weller - Don't go to strangers (2006)

Don't Go To Strangers
Words & Music by Redd Evans, Arthur Kent & Dave Mann
------------------------------------------------
Build your dreams to the stars above,
But when you need someone to love,
Don't go to strangers, my darling, come to me.
Play with fire till your fingers burn,
And when there's no place for you to turn,
Don't go to strangers, my darling, come to me.

For when you hear that call to follow your heart,
You'll follow your heart, I know.
I've been through it all, for I'm an old hand,
And I'll understand if you go, so,
Make your mark for your friends to see,
But when you need more than company,
Don't go to strangers, my darling,
Come to me.

Amy winehouse - Teach me tonight (2005)

Teach Me Tonight
Words & Music by Sammy Cahn & Gene DePaul
-------------------------------------------
Did you say I've got a lot to learn?
Well, don't think I'm trying not to learn.
Since this is a perfect spot to learn
Teach me tonight.

Starting with the A-B-C of it,
Right down to the X-Y-Z of it,
Help me solve the mystery of it
Teach me tonight.

The sky's a blackboard high above you
And if a shooting star goes by
I'll use that star to write "I Love You"
A thousand times across the sky.
One thing isn't very clear, my love
Should the teacher stand so near, my love?
Graduation's almost here, my love
Teach me tonight...Come on and teach me tonight.

Amy winehouse - Long Day (2001)..Wow!
"Long day" was written on September 2001 (9-11) and recorded as a Demo with simple instruments in 2003 for Amy's "Frank" album but was never released until now. Rumour has it that she didn't like that demo, "it was too pop", as she put it. In my perspective, it's not so much the style of writing that Wows me but her ability of bringing a senseless, simple song to become something special that's easy and delicious to the ears by shaping the song with her own trademark melodic/stylistic singing at the tender age of 17 years old or even younger. How often do we get to witness this kind of REAL talent? I should know because I've been involved in music for a long time.
