Hi Nimit,
Thanks for the suggestion to move this one to the Travel Thread, yes I'll do that and might add that it is the best idea for this situation.
What I'do is I'll write it down in English (no choice there!) and fully allow Maew to translate/edit etc... as his gifted heart desires, I respect his writing skill that should transform my untrained/unlearned writing into something that people can enjoy reading, all through my life, there was only one time that I have written one page memo for Thammasat Univ. while I was a student there that was kindly selected by the editor and put it in the University's annual faculty magazine in around 1967. It was the inspiration from having a month of my live as hired musician at Nakorn Panom and some other brief and unforgetable memories with my dad at Khon Khan while he was there as a part of his job. As you can guess the title of that one page memo is "My dear Isaan".

Back to your second question about Ter, yes I knew him first as socially and later as personally.
We were the student at Thammasat Univ. I was 1 year senior to him. I was studying at Accounting Facility while he studied at Economy Fac.,
He was a drummer for his band, I was the lead guitar for my other band and we crossed pass each other all the time. He played soccer as the wingman for his faculty, while I played soccer as the midfielder of my faculty.
I secretly admired him and could see some of his potentials that I couldn't figure what they are until he showed the whole world later in his life.
To make this long story short, after so many bands that I've been a part of, I formed my rock band ("Thanks", we chose the name from an old rocker's song presently the member of "The Eagles" Joe Walsh) of 4 members (I'd like to indicate here that I'll put their real names in here to honor each of them for allowing me to call them friends) that consisted of the drummer; Porames Wacharaparn (Tee) my beloved buddy, lead guitar; Chalermgiat Amornsing (Gore), second guitar; Krit Chokthippathana (Jod), and I played bass.
Gore and Jod were buddies, Gore was the student of Politic Science faculty at Chulalongkorn, and Jod was the student of Accounting faculty also at Chulalongkorn, both of them were 2 years junior to me.
We had lots of good time playing the kinds of music that we want without trying to please nobody. In that same period Ter was with his band "Dynamics" We were all young and free spirits looking for a good musical time, we played at every place for eveyone who invited or hired us. We used Tee's dad home at Soi Ari Sumpun 3 as the homebase for practice and bothered his neighbor everyday, Tee's dad was a very powerful army general at that time I might add!.
Ter showed up at our nomal practice session and jammed along, seemed like he's having a breakup with his own band. We didn't ask but got the feeling that he wanted to join us and he did ask us to become one of us!

We talked it over and welcome him with open arms, he'd be the keyboard player that will make us musically tighter. His vocalize will be use to the completion of 4 layers of harmonizing for Crosby, Still, Nash and Young that we loved to do, in "Thanks", now we have 3 lead singers; Jod, Ter, and I, all three of us has advantage of high octave voice and Tee/Gore were able to harmonize along well. In short we were ready to show our musician friends and associates in Bangkok how much fun we could have with our new member Ter.

Things went well, we got hired to play at every Universities (only 5 at that time), we become somewhat elite band because of our status of 4 Universities students member of the band that played semi-professional, we were on TV, at every musical festivals, you name it, we did it even once we played at Khao Yai in the forest for Chulalongkorn student gathering!
Anyway, I'll take you back to Ter story here before sidetrack to other stories. We got hired to play nightly at "The Impossible cafe" along with the fame "The Impossible" just to give the audience the different flavor of music (We played totally different kind of music to them)
As I said, we the musicians knew each other quite well more or less about each individual talents and we always craved for their unique talent for our own band. We always had fun jamming with our like-minded musicians. We got along so well with The Impossible (actually Ood,Sithiporn Amornpan the Impossible lead guitar was with my old band that played nightly at the nightclub for 1 month after he broke up from his own band before went to join The Impossible)
Ter got along very well with The Impossible, especially when Thanks was hired to tag along with The Impossible for their Southern of Thailand tour, we've played about 8 provinces as I recalled down to Nakorn Sri Thammarat (my dad birthplace) and Phuket too, lots of fun.

Ter was very very good as the negotiator and communicator (to say the least as history would reveal itself later in his short and spactacular live)
He represented Thanks for any new contracts that came up, we left it all for him, the rest of the band just want to have fun playing music (especially Gore and Tee also loved to had fun with Maryjane too!!)
Not long after we got back from that Southern tour, Ter consulted us and said he'd love to finish his BA at Thammasat so he'd like to stop playing music night after night for fun anymore. I understood completely about his intention and said good-bye to him and wish him luck in everyway (he later joined The Impossible on their Hawaii tour). Low and behold! nobody knew what's lie ahead for him. So after that we all knew what was his destiny.
IMHO (in my humble opion) Ter was the best man that always true to himself and especially his lovely wife (I've met her only twice, she's also the student at Thammasat,I'm pretty sure she didn't remember at all, I was always the quiet kind of guy that just love to play guitar and make music), he always supports and gave a helping hand to his friends as I learned from Grammy history that he's the main instrument that made the whole thing happened as we witnessed today.
No need to talk about his musical talents, he's one of those multi-instrumentalist. His singing is phenomenal, his showmanship is exceptional, he's destined to be the legendary to all of us.
I met him only twice after I left for USA, in early 80s we supposed to meet up at Wat Thai at North Hollywood but somehow I left after he arrived there. At that time there's no cell phone or any WEB for any flash communication OK?
After that I've met him once at his Condominium home in Glendale, we played tennis together for 2 sets and then say good-bye again.
Then I saw him last time at Grammy, I came back to Thailand for a month of my vacation (1993). He was so busy and was about to have his usual daily business meeting. I just went to Grammy without telling him and went to see one of our friends that's working there (Ketarant Lertpipat, Ter fondly called Junko, they're Thammasat buddies, he's working under Ter's wing and he's also an incredible musician in his own right, I've learn how to travis picking from this guy, RIP Ket my friend)
Ter asked me to go to see him during his meeting, I went up and meet him and his associates who I knew more or less before. we casually talked and reminisced about our past almost half an hour with my old VHS camcorder in hand. We said good-bye again and I didn't have a clue that it'd be the last time I'd see him and also Ket.
Last off, Yes I knew Ter, and I proud to call him friend, not because he's rich and famous. I don't care much about those illusive stuffs but I still admire his integrity and his true love for his wife (Ead) but that's another story that I'd prefered to keep it to myself, not too many people knew that and it's better to leave it that way.
RIP my friends, Ter, Ket, Gore (I've learned of your departure when I was in Thailand last years, it's stunning man to say the least. I'll never forget your Clapton's Crossroads that you played note by note while I's singing that tune when we were Thanks", thank you to let me be your friend), and where the heck are you Tee? nobody seems to know where the hxxx you are! I miss you man! Anybody knows where is he??
And Jod, can I talk to you for a minute? Are you still having fun at Grammy? or retired just like me. Wait a minute! you can't retire from having fun!!!
See, I've tried my best to keep it short!Tongue
[A friendship needs a little mulch of contacts every so often-just to save it from drying out completely.

I always have great pleasure being alone by myself to play, If you're playing for any other reason, it won't last.
