The trees of this city never change the color of leaves, it stays the same and it's easy to lose track of time
I've watched strangers come and go bags empty, but holding hope but it's easy to be forgotten in this crowd

Here in this city you're just like everyone trying hard to find
something to call your own all of the people i have ever met
they never stay for long i always watch them go
but this is my home.. my home.. my home..

the lights of this city always prove to be powerful, it seduces you but the closer you get
it's not quite as it seems and I'm just trying to claim a place
tracing lines around the stars I see hope I make a mark so they'll remember my name

But here in this city i'm just like everyone trying hard to find something to call my own

what if i'm just a fish in the sea sitting on the ocean floor what if you're just a bird up above
