This is a PAU FERRO (machaerium spp.) acoustic guitar back and sides set. This wood is also known as Bolivian Rosewood, or Morado. Pau Ferro is a very finely grained non-porous wood that is a dream to finish. The back plates have a very beautiful grain pattern, and the sides are also very beautiful. This wood machines and glues up very well. Denser and heavier than Indian and Brazilian Rosewood. Wonderful taptone. The color of this wood is beautiful under a finish, with chocolates, creams, reds, and golds throughout the grain. This wood works extremely well with a scraper. The leftover pieces are great for inlay work, heelcap veneer, or headplates.
