Ambrosia Maple refers to soft maple which has been invaded by the ambrosia beetle which causes random streaks of color throughout the wood, it has no effect on the structural integrity of the wood, but has quite a few VERY tiny holes.
Maple has excellent tonal quality, clear and bright. It also works and bends well and finishes very nicely as it is non-porous.
The wood has been kiln dried and is ready to use. The back pieces measure 8 1/2 ? wide and 21 1/2? long 1/8?+ thick, the side pieces measure 32 1/2? long and 5? wide 1/8?+ thick.
The back boards are perfectly bookmatched, and the sides are bookmatched as well.
