I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this Thread or not?
But it seems to be more appropriate than the other, so here I go
I was very surprise that Nicky our new member happened to know Beatles song (and liked it!).
I thought not too many young members know or even care about Beatles, but I guess I underestimated you guys! Sorry my fault
So to make up here, I'd like anyone who likes Beatles regardless of how young or old age or genders.
If you want to participate (just for fun), please list your Beatles's top 10. I realized that for the older members there could be even top 30 but to try to make it not too long I'd suggest to have only top 10 OK?
And if you want you can even elaborate the reason for those songs too but of course it's not mandatory.
Here are my top 10 that I had in my mind since I was in early 20s, so it certainly not due to my old age!, and starts from the bottom first;
10. A day in the life
Pretty sad song, but the arrangement is simply spectacular to say the least and end up with the unexpectedly big bang.
9. The long and winding road
Another sad love song, melody was very haunted and to my opinion Paul is at his best here.
8. Within you without you
George left some inner thought for us to think about something that not too many people think about. With the Sitar this song is one of Beatles highlight.
7. She's leaving home
Plain and simple sad story of untold family that nobody wants to bring it up.
6. Here, there and everwhere
Splendid lyric and clever chord pattern make this song shining so brightly.
5. For no one
Another sad but true epidemic that happens everywhere without being told.
4. Let it be
Yeah, this song had been played over and over again to death but if you really listen carefully the lyric still holds true to this day.
3. In my life
Here's the song that will make you sing less and less as you grew older because it will choke you up so bad anytime you try to sing it.
2. Eleanor Rigby
The fictional lady who died in the church and was buried along and nobody came. Such a frightening thought that someone had no one to be cared for. Plus the deafening string quartet that seranaded this lady to her grave. Simply sad and so cold.
And here's at the top of my list;
1. The fool on the hill
My 2 thumbs are up for Paul (and John) on this one, they saw the FOOL that actually so smart that he doesn't even care to reveal his identity or anything about him. But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down and the eyes in his head see the world spinning round and round and round and round..................
