Gibson recreates Chet Atkins' custom L-10 archtop

Gibson's Custom, Art & Historic division has created the L-10, built to the historical specifications of the original custom-ordered from Gibson by Les Paul that was later acquired by Chet Atkins. The model gets its unique tonal capabilities from the traditional late-1930s non-cutaway L-5 17" body and a fingerboard extended to 25 frets.

"Thousands of radio listeners were introduced to Chet Atkins with his Gibson L-10, and he brought a great deal of honor and prestige to the Gibson," said Henry Juszkiewicz, Gibson Chairman and CEO. "We're glad to extend Chet's legacy with this reproduction of his personal L-10."

The L-10 has a carved spruce top with special multi-ply white/black checkerboard binding, and carved figured-maple back with single-ply white binding. The mahogany neck features a 19-fret ebony fingerboard with a 6-fret extension and split-diamond inlays. Les Paul custom-ordered the original, with the extended fingerboard, in 1938 because he wanted to access the upper-range notes that he had heard gypsy-jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt play, and the guitar eventually came to Atkins. Chet is pictured with the L-10 (customized with an electric pickup and homemade vibrola unit) in publicity shots from his early days on radio.

The guitar has a rosewood bridge, trapeze tailpiece and nickel-plated hardware. It comes with an L-5 case, Custom care kit and Certificate of Authenticity.

All hand-carved, solid woods

Ebony fretboard. This is another custom upgrade--L10s typically had a rosewood board, ebony being reserved for the top-of-the-line L5 and Super 400
Gorgeous sunburst finish just like they used do them
17" body width
3" body depth--this is slightly shallower than the 3 3/8" body depth of Gibson's full-depth archtops like the L5 and Super 400.
X-braced--another unique feature. In the late 30s Gibson went to X-bracing for a short while, so the Custom Shop replicated that feature here.?
24.75 scale length, just like the original

ถูกต้องนะคร๊าบบบ ไว้แวะมาเล่นนะพี่ แต่เดี๋ยวผมจะเอา L7 ไปโมก่อน
ส่วนตัวถัดไปคงไม่ใช่ archtop แล้วครับ แค่นี้ก็เรียกว่าบ้าไปแล้ว เล่นแจ๊สก็ไม่เป็น
Benedetto คงไม่เล่นครับ เพราะน้าข้างบนเค้าบอกว่า " Only A Gibson is Good Enough "
