* A guitar hand-crafted on the island of Lapu Lapu, Philippines. The spanish brought Guitar craftmanship to the Philippines and taught it to the natives. They choose wood from neighboring islands that must cure before it is used sometimes sitting for years. This was part of a special order sent to Hawaii, and there were ONLY originally 5 made. The front edges of the body is inlayed with gorgeous abalone. The pick guard is made of Mother of pearl with abalone all around the edges of the MOP (or Mother Of Pearl). The pick guard is a testament to Philippine Craftsmanship. Lining the pick guard is about 1/2"-1" of abalone all the way around it and expertly fitted INTO the lining are shards of Mother of Pearl that make up the body of the pick guard. Take a look for yourself in the photos! The WHOLE back of the body on the guitar is skillfully contoured with vibrant abalone as well. The instrument is 16" wide at it's widest, 41" long, and 3.5" deep. It's a stunning and RARE piece to keep in any collection! Very seldom do you ever see a guitar body made entirely with abalone and mother of pearl. Often you will only see the pickguard or soundhole lining with a very small amount of anonymous shell. THIS is real abalone! *
